Two weeks until I leave for training in Orlando. I am getting very excited but very nervous. I have so much to get done. I have two dances that I have to learn and I have to get a talk ready. I am presenting the first talk at our first camp. I'm not sure I want to do it. I am very nervous. I just got my topic last night and I'm starting to get some ideas going. Hopefully God will give me the right words to say. 

Change of Plans

Well, Rome is no longer going to work out.
BUT, I applied to be a staff member for Catholic Heart Workcamp, and I got the Job!!
This is a mission trip that I went on in high school with my youth group. I always promised myself when I was old enough I would apply to be on staff. Well, now I am! I will be spending 4 weeks traveling the country. I will start off in Jackson, Mississippi the first week in June. Then I will go to Tampa, Florida, New Orleans, and Nashville, Tennessee.
I am disappointed about not going to Rome, but this is going to be even better! It is always something that I have dreamed about doing! I can't wait! I am on a team with 10 other people around my age. Hopefully I will meet lots of great people and have a great time! I will use this blog to write about my summer traveling and serving others! :)

ROME here I come!!!

I decided to start this blog about my experience in Rome this summer. I'm about 100 days out from the trip, but I'm so excited I figured I would start and write about getting prepared for the trip too!

I am going to Au Pair/ Tutor a 9 year old boy and a 6 year old girl this summer in the heart of Rome! I will be living with the family. The family lives right down the street from my cousin, Loraleigh, and her family. I am a little scared about being lonely when I am over there but at least I will have family so close by. This is going to make a huge difference in the trip!

I have to get my passport soon! I will be going this week! I can't put it off too long!

I wish I could leave tomorrow for the trip! I want this semester to be over. I have so much to do though! I need to learn some Italian! I downloaded some apps on my iPhone! Between those and YouTube Italian lessons hopefully I will not be clueless when I get there. I've been thinking about packing! How in the world will I pack for 3 months! I don't know how they dress over there. I guess I will just bring lots of sun dresses and shorts!
Can't wait to get started planning for my trip!! :)
